Kailash Ambwani
President and Chief Executive Officer, FaceTime Communications
Kailash Ambwani is a successful entrepreneur and senior executive with more
than 15 years in the consumer and enterprise software and services industries.
Prior to joining FaceTime, Ambwani was Chief Operating Officer of Genesys
Conferencing S.A., the leading global provider of audio, video and web
conferencing and collaboration services with 2002 revenues of $210M. As COO, he
was responsible for all Front Office operations worldwide including sales,
marketing, service, and regional P&L. Before his tenure at Genesys, Ambwani
co-founded Astound Incorporated, a leading venture backed player in the
emerging web conferencing and collaboration market, and served as its Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer until it was acquired by Genesys Conferencing.
Preceding Astound, Ambwani founded and ran several software companies in the
consumer and business productivity area including Gold Disk Inc. a leading,
venture backed provider of video editing and multimedia authoring tools for the
Windows PC.
Mr. Ambwani is a graduate of McMaster University where he received a Master of
Science in Theoretical Astrophysics and a Bachelor of Science in Theoretical
Physics, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Tench Coxe
Managing Director, Sutter Hill Ventures
Tench Coxe joined the firm in 1987 following his tenure with Digital
Communications Associates in Atlanta, where he managed T-1 products and
directed internal MIS and marketing. Previously, Coxe worked with Lehman
Brothers in New York City, where he was a corporate financial analyst
specializing in mergers and acquisitions as well as debt and equity financing.
Coxe's current directorships include Artisan Partners, Ceon, Clarus, Copper
Mountain Networks, eLoyalty, JP Kids, Lynk Systems, NVidia, Vivace Networks and
WildCard Systems. Coxe was also responsible for the firm's investment in Alteon
Networks, @mobile, Avant!, Edify, Legato, Network Appliance, Grand Junction,
NCD, OnStream Networks, Synernetics, Primary Access, and XcelleNet.
Coxe was also recently listed by Forbes magazine as the #5 VC in the country
for total return in 2001. Mr. Coxe graduated from Dartmouth College with a
degree in economics. Coxe earned his Master of Business Administration from
Harvard University's Graduate School of Business.
Mehdi Maghsoodnia
Founder, FaceTime Communications
Mehdi Maghsoodnia is a founder of FaceTime Communications and member of the
Board of Directors. Under Maghsoodnia's technology vision, FaceTime built the
first "IM network independent" integrated real-time business communication
platform, IM Director in 1999. IM Director has been used as the basis for
developing and delivering FaceTime's unique business applications and services
to over 250 customers. Maghsoodnia's career spans over 15 years of telephony
and communications architecture experience. Maghsoodnia is a frequently invited
speaker to emerging network and technology trend conferences where he functions
as a thought leader and founder of venture backed companies.
Maghsoodnia's career began at AT&T labs where he focused on high speed
switching technologies and VLSI design. He later joined Metaphor Computer
Systems to work on the first distributed decision support system, which was
later acquired by IBM. In the early 1990's, Maghsoodnia co-founded Presidio
Systems, a venture backed technology company that became the leading worldwide
provider of distributed clinical data collection systems to the pharmaceutical
industry.
Mr. Maghsoodnia holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of
California at Berkeley and completed his graduate studies in computer science
at Stanford University.
Thomas M. Neustaetter
Partner, JK&B Capital
Mr. Neustaetter has over 20 years of experience as an investor and investment
banker, including more than 15 years of venture capital and private equity
investment experience. Prior to joining JK&B, Mr. Neustaetter was a Partner
of The Chatterjee Group, an affiliate of Soros Fund Management, where he
focused on private equity investments in the telecommunications and software
industries. Prior to The Chatterjee Group, Mr. Neustaetter was the President
and founder of Bancroft Capital, a general consulting firm, where he provided
consulting services for a number of corporate clients, including several of The
Chatterjee Group's portfolio companies. Before founding Bancroft, Mr.
Neustaetter was with Chemical Bank for eight years where he founded Chemical
Venture Partners-Northeast and was Head of Middle Market Investment Banking. In
addition, Mr. Neustaetter served as Chief Financial Officer of First Reserve
Corporation, an energy investment fund, for five years and was a Senior Tax
Accountant at Price Waterhouse for three years.
Mr. Neustaetter earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy with great
distinction (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of California, Berkeley and a
Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Information Science
from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Mark Smith
Vice President, Worldwide Sales, InfoBlox
Mark Smith brings more than 20 years of sales experience in networking, network
security, computer systems and client/server software markets to his role as
vice president of worldwide sales for Infoblox.
Prior to InfoBlox, Mark served as vice president of corporate sales with
Juniper Networks and vice president of worldwide sales with NetScreen
Technologies, which was acquired by Juniper in April 2004. While at NetScreen,
Smith was named one of VARBusiness' Top 100 Execs of the year and a Computer
Reseller News Channel Chief and he played an instrumental role in the company's
success by consistently delivering double-digit quarter-on-quarter revenue
growth. Smith also has held various sales positions at Apptitude Inc., Network
Peripherals, Inc. (NPI), Digital Communications Associates and Zenith Data
Systems. Mark holds a B.A. in political science from Wheaton College.
Sharon Wienbar
Managing Director, Scale Venture Partners
Sharon invests in mobile, internet, and enterprise software companies at Scale
Venture Partners, which she joined in 2001. Sharon sits on the Boards of
Biz360, FaceTime Communications, Glu Mobile, MerchantCircle, PlayPhone,
Reply!com and Waterfront Media.
Prior to Scale VP, Sharon spent 15 years at Critical Path, Amplitude Software,
Adobe Systems and Bain & Company. Among her varied responsibilities, she
directed marketing strategies and operations, integrated product and service
businesses following acquisitions, managed the application of technology to
Pacific Rim and European markets, and negotiated complex intellectual property
licenses.
Sharon holds a BA and MA in Engineering from Harvard University, and an MBA
from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Sharon also serves on the Board
of Directors of the non-profit Myelin Repair Foundation.
