Press Release
FaceTime's Instant Messaging Visionary Jonathan Christensen to Discuss Future of IM and Presence at SUPERCOMM 2004
SUPERCOMM 2004, Chicago, Ill. - June 23, 2004 - FaceTime Communications, the leading provider of solutions that secure, manage, and extend instant messaging (IM) and other forms of real-time communications, today announced its CTO and instant messaging visionary Jonathan Christensen will lead a discussion on IM and presence as part of the "Content Drivers: Killer Apps You Need to Know About" panel at SUPERCOMM 2004. The panel will be held June 24, 2004 at 8 a.m. CST at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.
With IP comes one of the most exciting applications for merged voice and data: presence. Presence enables users to detect the availability of others and initiate contact with them online or in the field, for greater productivity, collaboration, and customer satisfaction. Tying presence in with voice, video, and data presents a host of new revenue-generating services, as well as a dizzying array of challenges, with authentication, control, and security among chief concerns of today's enterprise. Mr. Christiansen will provide an update on the latest technological advancements, alliances and ideas driving presence through the evolutionary phase for a comprehensive understanding of its impact on the industry.
