FaceTime Continues Global Expansion and Security Push with Key Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Product Design Appointments

FOSTER CITY, Calif., December 6, 2004 - Furthering its leadership as the premier provider of solutions that secure, manage, and extend instant messaging (IM) and peer-to-peer (P2P) applications, FaceTime Communications today announced four key appointments that add more than 50 years of IT and enterprise security experience to FaceTime's ranks. To help FaceTime consolidate its market and technological leadership in IM and P2P security, Michael Lock was named vice president of Sales, Paul Emery was brought on as vice president of Engineering and Client Services, Daniel Schrader was appointed director of Product Marketing, and Scott Kelly assumed the role of senior security architect.

As vice president of Sales, Michael Lock will lead the sales effort for all of FaceTime's products and services. Mr. Lock is a 20 year veteran of the technology industry, serving most recently as senior vice president of Field Operations for Virage, Inc., an enterprise software company focused on the rich media management and applications space. During his tenure when he was responsible for all sales, marketing and professional services operations for the publicly listed NASDAQ company, which tripled revenues during his tenure before its successful sale to Autonomy Corporation. Mr. Lock was previously vice president of Sales and Marketing for a $300 million dollar unit of Oracle Corporation and has also held key sales management positions at IBM and Dun & Bradstreet Software. He is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario where he received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.

Paul Emery joins FaceTime as vice president of Engineering and Client Services. With 14 years of software development and technology management experience, Mr. Emery will be responsible for leading global product development, professional services, and customer support activities for FaceTime Communications. Mr. Emery was most recently vice president of Engineering at Vignette, where he oversaw all functional specification, product architecture, and software development activities for the company's content management and portal products - running a 300-person engineering organization distributed across North America, Australia and India. At Epicentric, later acquired by Vignette, he grew the engineering organization from 20 to 120 employees over an 18-month period. Previously, he served as vice president and chief technical officer at Webster Management Group, a financial derivatives investment firm, after founding Automated Trading Consultants, a provider of portfolio management software. Prior to his vice president and chief technology officer post at Perfect Scents, Inc., he held key research and software development positions at MBZ Corporation and Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Emery holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Harvard University.

Daniel Schrader brings more than 17 years of software and hardware product management and marketing experience to the director of Product Marketing role at FaceTime, particularly in the security-related fields. Prior to joining FaceTime, Mr. Schrader was with SafeNet where he built the company's first product marketing organization and was responsible for marketing secure communications and digital identity products that generated over $90 million in annual revenue. Prior to his work at SafeNet, Mr. Schrader was director of Product Management at Gillian Technology, a Web site security company. Further enhancing Mr. Schrader's security expertise is his previous role as chief security analyst at Trend Micro, where he was responsible for identifying new security threats and was instrumental in positioning the company as one of the leaders in the anti-virus and Internet security market. Prior to TrendMicro, Mr. Schrader was with Computer Associates, where he managed the company's anti-virus product line, including InocuLAN and the anti-virus options for ARCserve, Exchange, Notes and Unicenter. He holds a BA in Economics and History from Columbia University and an MBA in Marketing from NYU.

In the newly created role of senior security architect, Scott Kelly fills the role of ensuring that FaceTime's product suite adheres to the strictest architectural standards for enterprise security. As a principal engineer at Airespace Inc, Mr. Kelly drove security design and development for the company's award winning wireless LAN product suite. As a distinguished engineer at SonicWALL, he was responsible for architectural analysis of the business' existing firmware implementation, and for integrating new enterprise security technologies into the company's product line to allow successful expansion into the enterprise security market. Additional experience includes other key engineering roles at RedCreek Communications, Furukawa Electric Technologies and Forest Computer. He holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Michigan State University.
