Press Release
CIO Rates FaceTime a "Rising Star" in New Zealand's Strategic 100
BELMONT, Calif. - November 11, 2008 - FaceTime Communications announced
today that CIO New Zealand, the only business publication dedicated to the
unique information needs of CIOs in New Zealand has placed FaceTime in this
year's Strategic 100 ICT vendors. Listed in the Rising Stars category, CIO
noted that FaceTime is – "is riding a second technology tsunami — providing
security for users of Facebook and similar social networking sites."
Compiled by an expert panel of judges from throughout the APAC region and by
CIO's editorial teams internationally, "Rising Stars" recognises companies that
are influencing technology choices and have already caught the eye of savvy
CIOs.
CIO noted in its write-up that FaceTime is "…the first company to provide
security for unified communications solutions like Microsoft's Office
Communication Server and IBM's Lotus Sametime," and recognised that its
products which secure, control and manage instant messaging, web conferencing
and P2P file sharing, provide "an electronic paper trail to monitor IM
conversations that might otherwise be difficult to recover."
"Deployment of unified communication tools has risen significantly in 2008 as
companies look to take advantage of the productivity and cost benefits it
brings," says Deric Moilliet, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand. "As
organisations become more aware that both enterprise and consumer based
solutions do not natively provide the required the security, policy control and
compliance to ensure best practice, so the interest in FaceTime's products has
grown, as the inclusion of FaceTime in CIO's Rising Stars confirms."
FaceTime is represented in New Zealand by GrailNZ – distributor of messaging
security solutions. www.grailnz.co.nz.
