FaceTime Communications Announces Enhanced Security and Compliance for Microsoft Office Communications Server Release 2
Ethical Boundaries for Audio Conferencing, Full security and compliance for Group Chat, Support for Access Edge Proxy and Logging and Reporting Enhancements
BELMONT, Calif - February 3, 2009 - FaceTime Communications, a Microsoft
Gold Certified Partner in the Microsoft Partner Program, today announced that
its line of Unified Security Gateway (USG) and IMAuditor products support the
Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 (R2) with enhanced
compliance and management capabilities.
FaceTime's IMAuditor and Unified Security Gateway products are integrated with
Office Communications Server 2007 R2 to provide protection from in-bound
malware, out-bound information leakage and to insure corporate and regulatory
compliance, and are extensible to other communications modalities including
Voice over IP and Web conferencing in addition to instant messaging. New to
FaceTime's support of Office Communications Server 2007 R2, is the ability to
create ethical boundaries for audio conferencing, full security and compliance
for Group Chat, support for Access Edge Proxy and associated logging and
reporting enhancements.
FaceTime's highly scalable architecture for unified communications, developed
with support from Microsoft, insures that even in the event of a server
failure, policies are enforced and communications continue to be archived for
compliance and audit purposes. This architecture protects organizations across
heterogeneous environment of public IM, Web 2.0 and unified communications
applications. Through FaceTime's continued support of both Microsoft Office
Live Communications Server and Office Communications Server 2007 R2, enterprise
organizations can be assured of enhanced security and management and consistent
policy enforcement across multiple unified communications modalities.
"Unified communications presents new challenges in terms of security, policy
management and compliance, because the nature of collaboration increases the
ways that information can travel within and outside the organization," said
Frank Cabri, vice president of marketing and product management for FaceTime
Communications. "Working closely with Microsoft, FaceTime provides a single
platform for enforcing security and compliance policies consistently across
instant messaging, conferencing and voice communications on the Microsoft
Office Communications Server platform."
"The combination of Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 and FaceTime's
USG and IMAuditor provides a powerful new way for people to collaborate and
offers customers a rich and integrated communications experience," said Eric
Swift, senior director of the Microsoft Unified Communications Group at
Microsoft Corp. "FaceTime is adding significant value to enterprise
communications and enabling businesses to better connect people, information
and business processes."
