FaceTime Helps Raise Funds for Bletchley Park and Displays Enigma Machine at Infosecurity 2009
London, UK - April 21, 2009 - FaceTime Communications has teamed up with
Bletchley Park to offer free annual passes to all attendees of FaceTime's
seminars in the Business Theatre at Infosecurity Europe this year. In addition,
visitors can see one of the famous Enigma machines on FaceTime's stand.
"The way Bletchley Park worked during the war, segregating workers through the
hut system, is a great analogy of how FaceTime gives organisations Web 2.0 and
application control," says Nick Sears, VP EMEA of FaceTime Communications.
"Social networking sites and real time applications definitely have a place in
today's businesses, but that shouldn't mean losing control. In the same way
that Bletchley Park segregated their experts into individual huts on a need to
know basis, so our USG web security gateway controls and secures Web 2.0
applications in a similar way."
As proof that social networking sites can be a successful method for
organisations to communicate, Bletchley Park recently triumphed once again by
using Twitter and Facebook to drive public support and voters to help win the
prestigious Wickes Building with Pride Award.
"It's remarkable that seventy years on, the principles used and techniques
invented at Bletchley Park are still being used in the work of modern
electronic communications," says Simon Greenish, CEO of the Bletchley Park
Trust. "Bletchley Park always strives to work closely with innovative companies
as shown in the Bletchley Park Science and Innovation Centre, and is pleased to
be working with FaceTime for this event and grateful for their support."
Once Britain's best kept secret, Bletchley Park is the historic site of
codebreaking activities during WWII and the birthplace of the modern computer.
However, the secrecy that had been so essential to its success during the war
meant that by the time the public become aware of the Park's wartime and
technological significance, the buildings, including the famous huts, were
almost lost. For every person that attends either a FaceTime seminar or visits
the stand for a product demo, FaceTime will donate £10 to Bletchley Park to
help keep this important legacy running for future generations.
FaceTime Communications is presenting two seminars at Infosecurity Europe:

Collaboration Is The New Black presented by Sarah Carter
-
